Shaping Up for a Quilt Show

Buying AccuQuilt dies has become as second nature as purchasing more fabric and thread. Try as I might to resist the temptation to take advantage of their many discounts, I sometimes fall prey to the urge. That’s what happened today and I purchased four new dies in shapes I think will be very useful.

I ordered popular sizes for half-square triangles (2″ and 1″ finished), a die for charm squares and a die for equilateral triangles (3 sizes). Not long ago, I also bought dies for 1″ circles and diamonds (3 sizes). Oh my! You can see a complete list of die-cut shapes I have along with some pricing information on the AccuQuilt Fabric Cutter page on this blog. I take special orders for any of the shapes if you have particular fabrics you plan to use in your project. Contact me for a quote.

I plan to make charm packs to donate for sale at the Friendship Quilters Guild Quilt Show on March 8, 2014. Our guild sells craft, quilting and hand-made items to visitors at the show. In addition, I want to make up some jelly rolls using the 2.5″ cutter and some kits for such patterns as Sunbonnet Sue, Ring of Oak, and Rose of Sharon.

Remember the date: March 8, 2014.

The Friendship Quilters Quilt Show will be held at the Pell City Civic Center, 2801 Stemley Bridge Road, Pell City, AL. Along with a display of member-created quilts, we will have a LIVE AUCTION of miniature and small quilts. 100% of the auction proceeds will be donated to charities.

Vendors will be available with fabric, notions and other goodies.

As the date gets nearer, I will provide additional information about the show, auction, and the charities to benefit from the auction. Check back here often or go to the Friendship Quilters blog to see what the guild is up to and get the latest on the show.

Until next time, take 15 minutes and do something quilt-y! You’ll be glad you did.
